The ASPCA arrested a woman in Queens for allegedly neglecting her German Shepherd, Briana. Agents found Briana tethered to a tree on August 21. She had been neglected for such a long time that her collar had become embedded in her neck. This was causing an extremely painful wound for Briana. The owner surrendered her and she was taken to ASPCA Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital immediately. She had various issues to be addressed: her coat was infested with fleas, she was dehydrated and highly underfed, and she also had her neck wound from her collar. She is now being treated and recovering at the hospital. When she's fully recovered, she'll be put up for adoption. The owner was charged with a misdemeanor animal cruelty. If she's convicted she'll possibly be going to jail for up to a year and/or paying a $1,000 fine.
~This is another horrible case of animal neglect and cruelty. She definately got what she deserved for torturing such a sweet and innocent dog.
